Eagles at the crossroads.

ree

No need to go into details; this postgame commentary is blindingly clear. After the Dallas game I called the Bears "the worst 8-3 team in recent memory" and to be frank, I didn't see much to the contrary. Had the Eagles bothered to get off the bus today I think they win that game in a walk. They didn't; the Bears just wanted this game more (as evidenced by their nearly 300 yards on the ground), and that's all there is to it. In the NFL, where the gap between good and bad teams isn't as wide as commonly believed, having the "want-to" edge is all you really need, apparently.

Here's the bottom line for this game (and the Dallas game, and the rest of the season): the Eagles need to decide if they would rather wallow in their dysfunction and offensive ineptitude, or want to play with some more pride. We all know that this team is better than this. Maybe not as good as last year (that was never going to be a reality), but better than this. It's time for the Eagles to take a long look in the mirror and make up their minds on what the rest of this season will look like. As it stands, it's hard to see them win enough games to hold the division if they play this way going forward. Don't get it twisted, there's enough talent here to write a much happier ending, but effort and creativity matter at least as much as talent and there just isn't enough right now. Stay tuned; we're going to find out who the 2025 Eagles really are soon enough.

Excellent commentary as usual. Don’t know if they can turn this around but right now their season will end a lot sooner than it should.
